The Fenland Grass Track Club (FGTC) is pleased to announce two new excellent sponsorship deals, which have been arranged for the 2007 season.
For many years Alan Bellham Speedway Services Ltd of Terrington St Clement nr Kings Lynn have been the UK importer for Jawa racing engines and products. Jawa have now had to change their name for 2007 to JRM and to promote the new name and also the development of a new 250cc JRM engine they have given the club a brand new 250cc engine. This will be raced for in series of events incorporated into the three meetings to be run by FGTC during the 2007 season. The top scoring 250cc solo rider throughout the series of meetings will be the winner of the JRM 250cc Challenge Series and receive the 250cc JRM engine as their prize. This should mean a top class entry of 250cc solos at all three FGTC meetings, which are Good Friday 6th April 2007 at South Runcton, Saturday 9th June 2007 at New Drove, Wisbech and Sunday 14th October 2007 at a venue near March. The club would like to thank JRM for their support for the club and we hope that this relationship is profitable on both sides.
Alan Bellham, who is the FGTC Club President, has also offered the club a further sponsorship deal for the 2007 season with a large cash prize being offered to the best 500cc solo and 350cc solo over the clubs’ three meeting in 2007. These two series are sponsored through his company Speedway Service Ltd and will be called The Speedway Service Ltd 500cc Solo series and the Speedway Service Ltd 350cc Solo series. This excellent sponsorship deal along with the JRM 250cc Challenge Series should ensure a top class solo entry for all three FGTC meetings.
Speedway Service Ltd will also be providing the spares van at all the clubs events for the 2007 season. The club and all its members would like to thank Alan, Jamie and all their staff for their commitment to the club and hope that a successful and long term relationship can be developed between the club and their company.
Further details on all three meetings will be released when they are available but several club members are already starting to get their preparations ready for the forthcoming season. Kings Lynn resident Simon Beard who was fourth in last years 500cc Sidecar British Championships is already sorting his equipment ready for his entry into the European Sidecar championships in Holland and Germany next season. Scott Campos (Ipswich) the Club champion at both 250cc and 500cc solos is looking to improve on a very successful 2006 with even better results in the 2007 British 250cc championships in Essex and also the British under 21 Championships which is being held at Tallington on 24th June 2007. Daniel Glover (Bromley) the clubs top youth rider in 2006 is looking forward to further meetings abroad including another attempt at the European championships in Holland a first go at the World Championships in Germany. Young Jacob Taylor (Wisbech) is moving up an age group this year and will have all new equipment for the 2007 season.
