The Fenland Grass Track Club would like to apologise to all for the late cancellation of their two day Grass Track meeting on 7th & 8th June 2008. 
The track had looked in good condition on the 1st June and with a favourable week would have produced a really good race track.

Unfortunately between Monday Night and Wednesday morning over 4 inches of rain fell on the track and it became clear that we would be unable
to run both days of racing on the one track as had been envisaged. 
The Saturday meeting was cancelled on the Thursday when we could not put up an alternative track for the Saturday meeting but it was still hoped that

a good track could be produced for the Sunday meeting as long as the weather was not to bad.

By Friday Lunchtime the track was in good shape and, despite being damp was looking good for the Sunday even though some rain was forecast. 

Unfortuantely it then rained from Friday Lunchtime all the way through to Saturday morning when it became clear you could not even get into the field and that we would have to cancel the meeting. 
Every effort was made to inform as many people as possible and hopefully all the riders and officuials were contacted.

Due to date clashes with other events and the avialability of first aid and officials the event will not be re-run but will be transferred to our October dates of 18th & 19th October 2008.

Once again the club apologise for any inconvenience caused but we did try our best to put the meeting on and inform people that it was off when we cancelled.
Hopefully we will see you all in October when we again hope to get the superb entry we got this time.
