New Venue in Huntingdonshire for the Fenland Grass Track Club in 2009

The Fenland Grass Track Club (FGTC) has a new venue for its two day meeting over the weekend of 27th & 28th June 2009 and is pleased to say it is again in the Huntingdonshire area.
The new venue just outside Wood Walton, Nr Huntingdon should provide an excellent track for the two days of racing in late June and along with the clubs other venue at Wood Hurst means that the
Sport of Motorcycle Grass Track racing is definitely back in the Hunts area. This means the club has two excellent venues within a few miles of Huntingdon, and should help the club grow from its infancy in 2006.

The club is also pleased to announce a tie up with the VMCC for 2009 which means that at both of the club two day meetings this year the Saturday meeting will be a joint Youth and Vintage meeting including all the normal youth and Vintage classes.
The meeting will count as a round of the VMCC club championships for any club members that enter and all the youth riders will be riding in the first round of the MedicMart Youth Challenge series.
This series is sponsored by MedicMart the Peterborough based company specialising in all your First Aid needs from training to ambulance transfers. For more details on their services visit their website at Medicmart.co.uk or call 01733 247752 or email medicmart999@btinternet.com. They will also be providing the First Aid cover for all the FGTC events this year.

The Sunday 28th June sees a return of the Fenland Trophy Meeting which was not held in 2008 due to weather issues during the year. This meeting includes the first round of the JRM 250cc Challenge series, with a brand new 250cc JRM engine for the winner. Last years winner Oliver Rayson should be back to defend his title but we are surore experienced riders will want to win the engine this year, but they will also be hard pressed by the new breed of young chargers coming through in what is now turning into a highly competitive class. The club would like to thank JRM for this excellent sponsorhip deal, which is now into its third year, along with Alan & Jamie of Speedway Services Ltd who have facilitated the deal for the club.

With Speedway Services Ltd also supporting the 350cc and 500cc solo classes via the Speedway Services Ltd 350cc and 500cc solo series the entry in all the solo class should be good. This meeting will be the first round with the second round in September The winner of the 500cc series will get a £300 voucher and the 350cc series winner will get a £250 voucher.
The other solos class at the meeting will be the Pre-75 class riding in the Brickhill Shield series. There will also be entries for all three sidecar classes.
Anybody wanting regs for either day or even both days please call Juliet on 07722232437 or 01473 720466. They can also be downloaded from the Clubs Website here
With all the classes and the good track it is hoped that there should be a full days entertainment for all the family on the Sunday as well as the Saturday. There will be refreshments on site all weekend along with a beer tent. Practice on both days will start at 11.00hrs with the first race off the line at 12.00hrs on the Saturday and 12.30hrs on the Sunday. It is hoped to get the meeting on Saturday finished by 16.30 hrs and then have the Speedway GP from Cardiff on in the beer tent.
The club would like to thank Alan, Jamie and all their staff for their continued commitment to the club and also their support to the sport.
