New Sponsor for youth racing at Fenland Grass Track Club in 2009 and continued support from JRM and Speedway Services Ltd.

With the season only a few weeks away the Fenland Grass Track Club (FGTC) is looking forward to the 2009 season.  With a difficult but successful 2008 behind them, the club is looking to grow even more in 2009.  Despite heavy losses from the cancelled meetings in June 2008 the club ended the year well with three successful meetings one in September and two in October.

The clubs two meetings for 2009 are over the weekends of 27th & 28th June 2009 and of 5th & 6th September 2009.  The venues have not been finalised for these meetings yet but will be announced soon.
As was the case last October the club will be running youth meetings on the Saturdays and adult only meetings on the Sundays.
The September meeting will be the Norman Southgate Memorial meeting and the club has been awarded one of the qualifying rounds for the 500cc Sidecar National Championships.

Further details for the clubs meetings in June and September will be released as the year progresses.
The club is always looking for willing volunteers and help before, during and after the meetings is much appreciated.  Anybody interested should contact Phil on 01945 589613 or Gary 01487 710788.

For the 2009 season the FGTC will have new suppliers of the First Aid Cover at all their meetings.  The company Medicmart (UK) of Peterborough will be supplying the two fully equipped and staffed ambulances and the Paramedic for all the meetings.
As part of the tie up with the club Medicmart will also be supporting all the youth races at the Clubs’ meeting.  The youth riders will ride in the Medicmart Youth Series with winners in all classes decided over the two meetings.

Medicmart are the Event Medical Service Specialists for all events from fetes to concerts.  They also provide hospital transfer services and airport collections, and they have a range of staff from First Aiders to Paramedics along with a fleet of vehicles from Front Line Ambulances to 4x4 vehicles.

For more details or for advice on the First Aid requirements for any of your events please call Martin Price of Medicmart on 01733 247752 or 07513319229 or email medicmart999@btinternet.com
The club and Martin hope this will be the start of a long and fruitful partnership, which will be to the benefit of all those concerned and continue the clubs stance on promoting both youth and adult Grass Track racing for the advancement of the sport.

The FGTC is also pleased to announce the continuing support of the club by Speedway Service Ltd (Terrington St. Clement) and the JRM factory.
Following on from the success of the JRM 250cc Challenge Series in 2008, with the results being decided in the last race of the series the JRM factory in Czechoslovakia has again given the FGTC a brand new 250cc JRM engine to presented to the best 250cc rider over the clubs two meetings in 2009.

The series for the 250cc JRM engine will again be called the JRM 250cc Challenge Series.  Last years winner Oliver Rayson (Bury St Edmunds) is likely to return to try and win again but he is sure to be hard pressed to win it with all the top 250cc riders likely to enter including the Club 250cc Champion Scott Campos (Ipswich) who has invested in a new JRM engine.  The JRM engine for the series will be presented through the official JRM importer Speedway Service Ltd of 5 Marshland Street, Terrington ST Clement, Kings Lynn Norfolk. PE34 4NE. (Tel 01553 829197).

Alan Bellham the owner of Speedway Service Ltd is again sponsoring the club through his company.  He will be sponsoring the 500cc solos and 350cc solos with series in both classes over the two meetings.  These will be the Speedway Service Ltd 350cc solo series and the Speedway Service Ltd 500cc solo series with £250 gift voucher and £300 gift vouchers for the winners in both series respectively.  This excellent sponsorship deal along with the superb deal from JRM again should a once again that there is top flight Adult Grass Track racing in the Fens for 2009.
